Dylan is walking! And a baby boom!

Actually Dylan has been walking short distances for over a month now. I have video footage of him walking down the hallway in mid-January! But now he is really starting to walk everywhere he goes. He still slips on the hardwood really often and he has the bumps and bruises to show for it but he is really getting the hang of it! I took a few pictures this week:

In other news: There is a huge baby boom going on in our immediate families: My sister-in-law, Tonya, had her baby on Feb. 19th. It was a beautiful little girl. I have seen many pictures but i have not met her yet, hopefully this week! Congratulations to Matt and Tonya! Many know that my younger sister, Tawana, is pregnant and she had her ultrasound yesterday and found out she is having a boy!!!! Woo-hooo! Congratulations Tawana, we are praying everyday for a healthy little baby, and now we know it's a boy! I know him and Dylan will be such buddies! Hopefully they will let Candace play too right!! Also, my sister in law Wendy found out a few weeks ago that she is having twin girls! How exciting will that be?!! And today my sister-in-law Kim will find out if she is having a boy or a girl! Can't wait to hear the news! Kim is also in the process of adopting a little girl from Guatemala! Hopefully she will be traveling to bring her home within the next couple of months! I know her and Candace will be such friends!
So if that was hard to keep straight I'll sum it all up: We recently welcomed a new little niece into the world and there will be five more nieces or nephews coming before the summer is through!!!
Yes, a HUGE baby boom!!! Congratulations everyone!

I'm ready for spring!

Part of me is still hoping for that one big nice snowfall, but mostly I am feeling ready for spring. I am getting tired of having someone sick here all the time. I had the flu last week. It is the first time i have ever had the flu. Thankfully i did have the flu shot so it wasn't as bad as it could've been. Friday and Saturday were my two worst days. On friday I couldn't even get out of bed and that is a first for me since i have had children. I have been sick many times but i have never been so sick that I couldn't even care for the kids. Thankfully Steve was able to stay home and take over. I feel much better now and hopefully I can stay that way!

School is closed today and I think the kids are getting a bit stir crazy! They see the snow outside but it is also raining so they cannot go out. Spring cannot come soon enough.
Here is just a couple of pictures:
Steve entertaining the girls:

Alexcis and Brittney built a block tower and they told Dylan he could knock it over but he just stared at it and said 'what's that?' I think he was very impressed.
We had some really high winds this past sunday and Steve looked out in the back yard and noticed this:

The neighbors tree fell over in our back yard! We wish we would've saw it fall. It doesn't look like it broke the fence, thankfully, but it is going to be a big clean up project.
Happy Valentines Day!

One Year Photos

I took Dylan to have his one year old professional pictures taken. I have never gone to have pictures taken in the evening. I always have either gone during the day or on the weekend. But this time I thought it might be easiest if Steve stayed home with the other children and I took just Dylan. (Well, Alexcis went along to help too.) It was so quiet. I was the last appointment and the lady took so many different pictures. She just kept taking pictures and finally I told her I thought that would be enough to chose from! I have never had that happen before. I ended up with 18 different good poses to pick from. I only chose 9, but I would've loved to have them all, they were so good. Here he is with his dinosaurs:

I am very happy with the pictures, and when I go back to have Candace's 18 month photos taken, I am going to schedule another evening appointment.

Steve and i will celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary next week. I cannot believe it has been eight years! I guess time flies when you are having fun!! Well, not much new to report. I hope everyone has a good Super Bowl Sunday; I will be watching the commercials.
